8月23日晚，“羽毛球雜誌”賬號透露，賽會1號種子、中國選手石宇奇的國籍被錯寫成阿爾及利亞。8月25日至31日，2025羽毛球世錦賽將在巴黎舉行。

石宇奇拿著本次參賽的運動員證，證件上標注石宇奇為“ALGERIA DELEGATION PLAYER”（阿爾及利亞代表團選手）。
